Notes concerning data protection

Welcome to the AGES website. The protection of your personal data is a high priority for AGES. Consequently, we treat your data as confidential and respect the private sphere of our visitors and clients. 

The major part of our web presentation can be reached without registration or the entry of personal data. Should you use our services, it may be necessary to provide personal data. In this case we assure you, that we will process this information solely for the purpose for which it has been provided to us.

All employees, temporary staff, trainees and auxiliary staff are sworn to confidentiality and to compliance with the rulings of the Federal Data Protection Act by the AGES Data Protection Officer when taking up their duties.

Our employees also participate in regular training measures on IT security and data protection in order to further raise their awareness in this context.

I. Data processing

(1) We automatically collect information in our server log files which is transmitted to us by your web browser. It includes:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • IP address of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request

This personal data is not stored. This data is not merged with other sources of data.

(2) When booking an Eurovignette ( you are required to indicate your vehicle registration number as well as further vehicle-specific data. This data is processed exclusively for booking, settlement and control purposes. The forwarding of the data during the order process is carried out in encrypted form.

II. Cookies

“Session cookies” are used at several points on our sites. Cookies are small text files which are deposited on your computer and which are stored by your web browser. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. You can prevent the cookies from being installed by means of an appropriate setting in your browser software. Session cookies are deleted automatically following the end of your visit.

III. Web analysis

The web analytics service Piwik is used on this website. Here too, only information which is sent automatically by your web browser is stored. Evaluation is based on the anonymous IP address which means that it cannot be associated with your web browser. We use this information to evaluate the use of the website. If you do not agree to your IP address being stored, you can prevent the storage of your IP address for this web browser by means of the following link (so-called “Opt out”).

IV. Forwarding to third parties

It may be necessary to forward your data in the following cases. If so, this will be subject to strict confidentiality and legal requirements:

(1) To external service providers for data processing: If service providers come into contact with personal data of our customers, this will be within the framework of so-called order data processing. This is explicitly provided for by the law (Section 11 Federal Data Protection Act).Even in such cases, AGES remains responsible for the protection of your data. The service provider works exclusively in accordance with our instructions; this is ensured through strict contractual rulings, technical and organisational measures as well as through supplementary controls.

(2) On the basis of statutory obligations: In certain cases, we are obliged by law to forward data in response to enquiries by government bodies. We do not forward any data to third parties over and above this, unless we have received your explicit consent to this.

V. Revocation of the use of personal data with respect to AGES

You can revoke your consent to the use of the personal data by us at any time. We draw your attention to the fact that, even in such cases, we remain entitled to process the personal data, if this is necessary for purposes related to fulfilment of a contract concluded with you. The same applies if you have issued your consent to third parties concerning data processing, and we process your data on behalf of this third party in accordance with the agreement; additionally, if processing is prescribed by law or required by a court or authority.

VI. Right to information

You have a right to information concerning your personal data processed by us, its origin and recipients as well as the purpose of storage. Within the framework of so-called order data processing, we are bound by the statutory requirements in terms of the provision of information. If necessary, we shall forward your enquiry to the responsible body. If you wish to receive information concerning your processed personal data, please contact our Data Protection Officer in writing.
